What to look for in kids shoes?
There are four components that need to be carefully looked at when shopping for kids shoes: the upper part, the insole, the outer sole, and the heel. Following you will find some information that will help you make a smart decision when purchasing your child's shoes.
Children's feet perspire quite a bit, therefore when shopping for shoes you should avoid synthetic materials such as plastic, that does not breathe, especially in the upper part of the shoe. Kids shoes should consist of breathable materials made of canvas, leather, or mesh materials. Make sure the insole is made of an absorbent material and that the outer sole provides traction, cushioning, and flexibility to the shoe. Toddlers do not need heels on their shoes. Flat outer soles make it easier to begin walking. Older children can wear shoes with heels, but they should not be bigger than one inch. High heels can cause their foot to slide forward, therefore cramping the toes against the shoe.
